今回、シンガポールのアラブストリート地区についてお話します。そこは、休日観光客で賑わう観光スポットの一つです。
アラブストリートはシンガポールの道路や地域の名前です。アラブストリートという名前の由来には2つの説があります。第一は、サイード・アリ・ビン・モハメド・アルジュネイドというアラブ商人が所有していた地区であること、第二は、アラブの村であるということです。

アラブストリートの道沿いにスパイス、織物、工芸品やスカルキャップなどのお店が連なっています。タミル人コミュニティでは、アラブストリートは「プカダイサック」や「花のショッピング通り」として知られており、花、ライムなどの多くの商品をジャワ女性がお店で販売しています。

アラブストリートの近くに、サルタンモスクという名前のモスクがあります。サルタンモスクは、シンガポールで最も重要なモスクです。モスクの大きな特徴は、祈りのホールとドームです。多くのイスラム教徒の外国人は、祈るためにこのモスクに訪れます。アラブストリートエリアへMRTで行く場合、ダウンタウン線のブギス・ジャンクションMRT駅で下車します。その駅は、ブギスジャンクションショッピングセンターと繋がっており、そこから徒歩約15分でサルタンモスクに到着します。

私は、訪問者がイスラム教徒の人々だけでなく、非イスラム教徒や海外の観光客もサルタンモスクを訪れていることが分かりました。サルタンモスクのホールの周辺には、非イスラム教徒の訪問者を案内し、モスクについての歴史を説明するガイドスタッフが数名います。訪問者はホールでの写真撮影が許可されています。サルタンモスクを訪問する際、ウェブサイトで場所と時間を確認してください。「http://sultanmosque.sg/」　サルタンモスクは友好的なガイドスタッフがおり、施設と管理が行きとどいています。

Kali ini saya akan menceritakan tentang Arab Street di Singapura. Area ini merupakan salah satu tempat wisatawan yang dipadati oleh pengunjung pada masa liburan.
Arab Street adalah nama sebuah jalan dan lingkungan di Singapura. Ada dua penjelasan di balik nama Arab Street. Yang pertama adalah bahwa daerah itu dimiliki oleh seorang pedagang Arab bernama Syed Ali bin Mohamed Al Juneid. Yang kedua adalah lingkungan tersebut merupakan sebuah kampung Arab. Rempah-rempah, tekstil, barang-barang kerajinan dan songkok banyak dijual di sepanjang pertokoan yang ada di kaki jalan Arab Street. Pada masyarakat Tamil, Arab Street dikenal sebagai pukadai sadkku (jalan pertokoan bunga), karena toko banyak toko yang menjual bunga, jeruk nipis, dan barang-barang lainnya yang banyak dijual oleh perempuan suku Jawa.
Di dekat Arab Street terdapat sebuah masjid bernama Masjid Sultan. Masjid Sultan dianggap sebagai salah satu masjid paling penting di Singapura. Ruang doa dan kubah masjid menjadi sorotan bagi fitur bangunan masjid. Banyak orang asing yang beragama muslim datang ke masjid ini untuk sembahyang, begitu juga dengan saya. Jika Anda menggunakna MRT untuk pergi ke daerah Arab Street, Anda harus mengambil jalur Downtown Line dan turun di stasiun Bugis Junction. Stasiun ini terhubung ke Bugis Juntion Shopping Center. Dan hanya jalan berjalan sekitar 15 menit Anda akan menemukan masjid Sultan.
Ketika saya mengunjungi Masjid Sultan, saya mengetahui bahwa pengunjung yang datang tidak hanya orang muslim saja. Wisatawan dari negara-negara lain yang non-muslim juga datang mengunjungi Masjid Sultan. Arab Street in Singapore
This time I will talk about Arab Street area in Singapore. One of the tourism spot that crowded by tourists in holiday.
Arab Street is the name of a road and neighbourhood in Singapore. There are two explanations behind the name. The first one is that the area was owned by an Arab merchant, Syed Ali bin Mohamed Al Junied and that it was the site of an Arab kampong, hence the name Arab Street. Spices, textiles, basketry items and songkoks are sold along this row of shophouses with five-foot way at Arab Street. In Tamil, Arab Street is known as pukadai sadkku (flower shops street), because of shops selling homegrown flowers, lime and other goods sold by Javanese women.
Near to Arab Street there is a mosque named Sultan Mosque. Sultan mosque is considered one of the most important mosques in Singapore. The prayer hall and domes highlight the mosque’s star features. A lot of muslim foreigners come to this mosque for praying, so do I. If you go by MRT to Arab Street area, take the Downtown Line and get off at Bugis Junction MRT station. The station is connected to Bugis Junction Shopping Center. And you just walk around 15 minutes to find the Sultan Mosque.
When I visited Sultan Mosque, I found out that the visitors are not only muslim people. Tourists from another countries which are non-muslim also come visiting the Sultan Mosque. There are some mosque’s staff who guiding the non-muslim visitors around the hall of Sultan Mosque and explaining the history about the mosque. The facility and the management at Sultan mosque is good and the staffs are friendly toward the visitors.
